One of the most telling stats when it comes to offensive efficiency. ≈65% in the first half. That’s exactly what you want from your presumed starting QB against an FCS team. Last season’s opener, while against a FBS team (not a great one), did not have a single quarter above 50%. (I also for some reason couldn’t get ahold of the Abeline Christian numbers from last year, but certainly wasn’t as good). Would like to see more explosiveness, but it could honestly have been a vanilla playbook last night. Let’s just wait and see how we play against Middle Tennessee. If we see that number around 55% while Cook’s in the game. I will be convinced this offense is better than last season.
