What I saw at Kentucky validated what I've thought.
The issue on offense isn't talent. The issue on offense is consistency and ability to handle adversity. Missouri has enough talent on offense. Lock is capable of being a great QB (and a bad one in the same game). Crockett, Witter and Rountree are capable backs. The receivers and tight ends may not be great, but they're good enough to produce. The O-Line bounced back from a couple of poor performances and played well.
On defense, it's more of a talent issue than anything else IMO. At defensive tackle, I think Missouri is good enough. But defensive end, there's no difference maker. Terez Hall has looked good at linebacker, but I'm not sure anyone else is above average there. And the secondary, they have a whole bunch of dudes, but they're all the same. I haven't seen anyone who has separated himself from the pack.
Thoughts?
