1. First things first, make sure you saw all of our coverage from the Black and Gold Game, which will cover a lot of our thoughts.

First glimpse of Bryant provides a lot to like
Ten Takeaways

2. I was impressed with the crowd. No, it wasn't 50,000 or 80,000 but it's never going to be and so what? Let's not waste time comparing how many people are going to watch a Missouri practice to how many are going to watch Ohio State or Nebraska. That just sets you up to talk crap about your own program and be unhappy. I know 18,000 isn't going to blow anybody away, but considering where this fanbase has been, I think it's a good step. I thought the athletic department and the campus did a good job of promoting the game and reaching out to try to get people there and a fair number of people answered the call. Now, Missouri has to get off to a good start and convert some of those people from willing to take a look to actively wanting to be consistent fans.

3. Things that impressed me the most:

*Kelly Bryant's play. He was accurate. He hit a deep ball. He threw on the run. He's fast. I think people are setting unrealistic expectations for him...but I was impressed with him.
*Larry Rountree. He's going to be a star. All-SEC is in his sights.
*Jarvis Ware. I've heard more about him than maybe any other player this spring.
*The offensive line. It's going to be fine
*Jonathan Nance. I wasn't sold on him when he transferred from Arkansas. He's going to start and catch a lot of passes.

4. Things that didn't impress me:

*The kicking game. I'm not going to freak out yet...but we didn't see anything to tell us it's not going to be a problem.
*The offensive reserves. The second-team did almost nothing. The gold team did almost nothing. When the starters came off the field, there weren't even very many first downs.

Honestly, that's really about it.

5. Up next is the NFL Draft. I was approved for credentials to cover it late last week and will head to Nashville next Wednesday. I will certainly cover all things Drew Lock from ground zero down there. I'm also planning to meet up with Emanuel Hall on day two. We should have plenty of stuff for you from Nashville. I think Lock goes in the top half of round one. And I don't think it's to Denver. Not sure where it will be, but don't think it's Denver based on what I'm hearing from people that know more than me.

6. We'll get some roster clarity for basketball this week. In fact, we got some while I was typing this. Jeremiah Tilmon is going to test the waters. We expect him ultimately return, but anything can happen. Jontay Porter has to make his announcement by Sunday at midnight. I have no idea when it will happen, but it has to be some time in the next six days. Thank goodness. It feels like the last 16 months, the overriding storyline with Missouri basketball has been when the Porter family is going to announce something or other. I get it. They can do it on their timeline. At the same time, unless a decision hasn't actually been made (and at this point, I certainly don't believe that to be true) it feels like it's time for Jontay to let everyone know (inside and outside the program) what he's doing.

7. What to listen to this week:

I'm spending the morning listening to every golf podcast I can find. So far, I've listened to No Laying Up and Shotgun Start. I'm sure I'll listen to more.

What to watch this week:

Netflix has season five of "How to get away with Murder." I'm watching that. It's mindless and easy to throw on a couple episodes before I fall asleep every night. I've already watched the first four seasons. It's not one of the greatest shows you'll ever see, but sometimes I just want to burn a couple hours watching something that is relatively entertaining.
