Random thoughts from the game. Larry Rountree looks a lot quicker & leaner. Idk if you’ve heard anything about him slimming down, @GabeD but I’d be curious to know if that was an emphasis for him over the offseason.
The 1st team offense looked sharp. The second team, not so much, especially the OL. There were a lot of missed assignments when the 2nd team OL were in the game.
Kam Scott, Jalen Knox, & Dominic Gincinto stood out among the freshman WRs. That play by Kam was something we haven’t seen in a while from a Mizzou WR.
I’m a little worried that the 1st team DL. They didn’t get that much pressure on the QB in the 1st half. Perhaps it was the heat, but it was worth noting.
Jordan Elliott was the most disruptive DL on Saturday.
Trajan Jeffcoat & Jatorian Hansford have some great length & burst. I’d like to see some more playing time for them.
The secondary did a great job most of the game. Holmes & Petry stood out to me.
Nick Bolton was at fault for the RB wheel route that went for a TD. He cut inside to the WR running a drag instead of covering the RB out of the backfield.
I was surprised to see Dawson Downing as the FB in the goal-line formation.
