Going off in the early wave, Buckley posts a bogey-free 7-under 64 to claim a tie for third. Made the turn at 2 under, and after missing a 6-footer at the 10th, reeled off 4 straight birdies. Got another at the 17th after missing a 10-foot eagle putt. And he’s not even low Hayden.

That honor belongs to Hayden Springer, who carded a 59. After a par at the 1st, he made seven 3s and a deuce to turn in 27! Birdied the 15th and was in the process of chopping up the reachable 17th when he holed a 53-yard shot from the left rough for eagle. Then made a 12-footer at the last for 59. (He also holed a 60-footer from the rough early in the round.) When it’s your day …

Springer is an easy guy to root for. Here’s a story from 2021. Inspiring family. The young daughter has since died.

Here’s hoping the Haydens finish 1-2 this week.
