We'll start with football recruiting this week because, well, hell, why not?

FOOTBALL RECRUITING

- We've caught up with most of the key visitors that Missouri hosted for unofficials last week and over the weekend, here are links in case you missed them:

Marcus Washington
Jamie Nance
Ira Henry
Ishmael Burdine
Nick Broeker

We were also able to catch up with a couple of other visitors from last week on Thursday, one of those was 2020 DeSmet wide receiver target Jordan Johnson. The four-star prospect told us he had a great time during his trip with his high school team, really loved interacting with the coaching staff and got to set in during wide receiver meetings. He's looking forward to getting back up to Missouri soon.

Frisco (Tex.) area tight end Nolan Matthews was another prospect that was at Missouri last week. His visit lasted two days and while he didn't leave with an offer, there is a good chance one may be extended to him during the spring evaluation period. Kansas, SMU, Texas State, and UTSA are his notable offers right now.

- Sean Williams will be in Atlanta this weekend to cover the Rivals 3-Stripe Camp Series on Sunday, a dozen Missouri targets are expected to be in action that include the following:

Tyler Fromm
Garmon Randolph
Riley Simonds
Tyron Hopper
Kevon Glenn
Nick Jackson
Jacorius Willis
DJ Turner II
Quinton Newsome
Omarious Burnam
Aaron Beasley
Kendall McCallum

We'll have a notebook and a lot more throughout the week from Atlanta.

-The black and gold game is obviously in Columbia this weekend. We're trying to track down visitors, but honestly so far, we're not coming up with a whole lot. Part of that as stated above is that quite a few guys have visited over the last couple of months. Another part (this is our guess) is that the weather is supposed to be terrible and attendance probably won't be great. As we've always said, you sell your strengths. If you're a school that get 50K to your spring game, you sell it. If you're not, you don't. If some of these guys are visiting places that get that kind of crowd and then they see 5,000 at Mizzou, it probably won't leave a great impression.

Again, there could be some guys in town and we'll do our best to track that information down, but we don't see it being a huge visit weekend as of right now.

A couple of new offers have gone out in the last 24 hours. Here you go:

The McNamara one is interesting because he's a kicker/punter. He's listed on Rivals as a kicker, but he can punt so you'd think Missouri is targeting him as a replacement for when Corey Fatony leaves. Offers to specialists always draw a little more attention because they don't happen all the time, but it's getting more and more common.

BASKETBALL RECRUITING

There's not a whole lot new here. Corey Evans reported that Evansville transfer Dru Smith will visit in late April.

Illinois transfer Mark Smith is supposed to be in town today. Smith has not responded to our multiple attempts to reach him, so we can't really give you a lot of insight as to what is going on. We've been over and over the situation with him and Courtney Ramey and the truth is nobody can say for sure what's accurate because neither of them are talking. We can definitely see Missouri taking Ramey and one of the Smiths. Don't see a situation where they take both Smiths. I don't think you have two guards both sitting out a year to be honest.

With Ramey, as we posted earlier this week, we'd been hearing a decision could come in the very near future and what we'd been told is that Missouri is in good shape. And that could happen. But we can tell you that Webster Groves has prom this weekend and Ramey is playing in an all star game next weekend, so it doesn't look like any official visits will happen either of those weekends. That doesn't mean he couldn't commit somewhere. Maybe he doesn't need to take any more visits. The family has gone completely silent and we have no idea what the thought process is from their side, so it's a waiting game right now. Again, some people that are right a lot more than they're wrong felt confident Ramey would make a decision within a few days earlier this week. And that could still hold true. But we wait with the rest of you.

Obviously it doesn't have to do with an individual prospect, but we had Cuonzo Martin on the podcast and you can listen to some thoughts on recruiting and the program.

We'll pass along any other developments as we hear of them.
