Football centric today because that's where the news of interest lies. If and when we have hoops info, we'll pass it on.

- On Tuesday, 4-star defensive end target Kyran Montgomery gave us some short-lived excitement when he tweeted he was "closing his recruitment on September 1st" only to take that message down about 30 minutes later and tweet his "recruitment is 100% open to all schools." Late Tuesday night, Montgomery then tweeted, "who does commitment videos in the Indy area? DM me!"

After all the social media ebbs and flows, we dug a little deeper into the matter and are hearing that September 1st is likely the date Montgomery will make his college decision public.

- As Rivals.com southeast analyst Chad Simmons noted on Tuesday, Telfair Co. (Ga.) defensive lineman Patrick Tukes is another Missouri target that could pop at any time and the Tigers have all the buzz right now.

- Regarding Arden Walker, another defensive line target we caught up with recently. We're hearing that Missouri and Texas have emerged as his favorites with the Longhorns holding an advantage.

- On Thursday, two FutureCasts were entered in favor of Arizona State for offensive center target Ezra Oyetade, including one from Rivals.com southwest recruiting analyst Sam Spiegelman, who's been very tied in with Oyetade's recruiting process. So, it looks like the Tigers will hit the reset button and continue their search for an OL centerpiece.

- On Monday, Missouri offensive line target Cameron Ball tweeted that he will "have some big news on Friday." We're expecting that to be a Top 5 list. The three-star prospect originally released a Top 10 back on April 24th that included the likes of Mississippi State, Minnesota, Illinois, Virginia Tech, Arkansas, Florida State, Louisville, Boston College, Georgia Tech, and Arizona State. Missouri didn't extend their offer until June 10th, so it will be interesting to see if the Tigers will make the cut. Not sure if they will or not. Regardless, we're hearing that Arkansas has the upper hand currently.

- Rivals.com released their initial 2022 Rivals250 rankings on Tuesday which featured six in-state prospects that all hold Missouri offers. For more on Luther Burden, Kevin Coleman, Tyson Ford, Isaac Thompson, Toriano Pride, and Domonique Orange - click here for a breakdown of each.

- Staying on the topic of the 2022 Rivals250, a couple of out-of-state targets within the rankings that Missouri is consistently talking with include Naperville Central (Ill.) wide receiver Reggie Fleurima and Omaha (Neb.) Burke outside linebacker Devon Jackson.

For Fleurima - Missouri, Minnesota, and Northwestern are the trio of offered schools that he's hearing from the most. Stanford is also showing interest as well.

For Jackson - Missouri, Michigan, and Nebraska are the three teams he's hearing from the most right now.

We'll have more on both at the beginning of the week.

- Eli Drinkwitz got some of you all hot and bothered last night (and us certainly curious) with a couple of tweets

We checked into it and these were not commitment tweets. Those look to be the hashtags Mizzou will use for the 2022 class. Just an attempt to get some of those kids engaged and build some excitement. Probably not the info you all wanted on that front, but another sign that this staff understands social media and its importance--especially at a time when you can't recruit in person.

- Speaking of 2022, the Missouri state rankings are out. Of the top 15, Mizzou has already offered 12. It's a little early, honestly, to start breaking down chances and favorites and that type of thing. But this is the next wave of kids from the state you all are going to want to be familiar with. There's already some discussion on the board about it right here.
