FOOTBALL RECRUITING
- Rivals250 OL and priority in-state target Jack Lange dropped his Top 6 last week. Missouri finds themselves among the group along with Notre Dame, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Ole Miss. Obviously, the Tigers set in a very good position here as Lange has visited campus multiple times since the summer, including for two games this past season. He was most recently at Mizzou in January and plans to return on March 9th for their spring scrimmage.
In terms of the competition. Notre Dame, Michigan, Ole Miss, and Nebraska also received gameday visits from Lange this past season. During the recent contact period, Lange also made return trips to Notre Dame and Nebraska along with Mizzou.
So, this obviously isn't a contrived top schools list from the Eureka product, who has established relationships with each program and will at least have taken multiple visits to five of the six schools involved by the end of April. We broke it all down HERE
- After a January visit to Missouri, five-star OT Michael Fasusi will return to CoMo on March 13 for a follow-up visit. Fasusi has spoken highly of Missouri since his visit, so a quick turnaround trip can be nothing but a positive for the Tigers. Trips to LSU, Texas A&M, Texas, Oregon, Oklahoma, and Colorado are also on deck for Fasusi in March and April.
- Four-star OG target Chauncey Gooden will also make a return visit to Missouri on March 9th. He was previously on campus back in the spring of last year. The Tigers were among Gooden's Top 10 that he released back in December. The Nashville, Tennessee native visited Clemson during the recent contact period and is also expected to visit Colorado during the spring.
- Four-star DL target Landon Rink just picked up an offer from new Missouri DL/edge coach Brian Early. The two already have a great relationship as Early recruiting Rink while he was at Houston. The Rivals250 is planning to visit Mizzou on March 9th for the Tigers' spring scrimmage - adding some more star-power to an expected visitor list that also includes Andrew Babalola and Jack Lange - CLICK HER FOR FULL STORY ON RINK
- Newly offered three-star OL Keiton Jones also told us he'll be at Missouri on March 9th for a visit. He's also been talking with Brian Early since he was at Houston. Jones has picked up other notable offers from Minnesota, Alabama, Kansas, Purdue, Auburn, and Arkansas in recent weeks.
- Safety target Jeremiah Alvis told us that he'll also be returning to Missouri on March 9th. The Alabama native was previously on campus in October for the LSU game. He has received recent offers from Texas A&M, Arkansas, and Ole Miss since February. He plans to visit Alabama and Miss. State in the spring as well.
- Three-star cornerback Zadian Gentry is cousins with Missouri RB coach Curtis Luper, so the whole staff is making a push for the Texas native who told us he'll be on campus for a visit on March 20th. Oklahoma State, Wisconsin, TCU, Baylor, and Nebraska will get spring/summer visits as well.
- LB target Dillon Arkansas (ewww, gross!) also plans to be at Missouri on March 9th as well. The Texas product has held an offer from Missouri for over a year now and recently told our Illinois site that Mizzou, Baylor, and TCU are the schools currently recruiting him the hardest.
- Three-star RB target Lucas Farrington took home MVP honors at the Under Armour Camp in Atlanta this past weekend. Missouri sets in a great spot for the rising talent, who took a gameday visit for the LSU game this past season before returning to campus in January for a Jr. Day visit as well. He's also hoping to get back to Missouri in the spring as well. Farrington has held a Missouri offer for nearly a year now and has a great rapport with RB coach Curtis Luper. Missouri was also featured in a few other "top schools" lists the past few days, let's break it down...
TOP 13 for Rivals250 DE Jayden Woods out of Mill Valley (Kan.). He's definitely on the Tigers' most wanted list as the coaching staff visited him at school during the recent contact period. Woods also attended the Middle Tennessee game this past season as well. Woods' father played at Kansas State, so expect the Wildcats to be a factor throughout his recruiting process, but he also has some other blue-blood programs in pursuit.
TOP 12 for four-star CB Timothy Merritt out of Birmingham, Alabama. Another highly-rated prospect out of the Southeast that has held a Missouri offer since August with Tigers' CB coach Al Pogue heading up his recruitment. We'll see if a visit from Merritt materializes in the future. He is also teammates of 2025 DE target Caleb Smith, who visited Missouri back in November for a game.
TOP 12 for four-star OL Connor Carty out of Texas. This recruitment seems pretty wide open for now, but the in-state programs Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech are probably setting in the best spots currently. Once again, if Carty visits Missouri at some point this spring or summer, there will be reason to ramp up the excitement level.
- Three-star, in-state QB Dillon Duff committed to Kansas State on Monday. The De Smet product had made multiple visits to Mizzou throughout the season and into January, but now attention will turn to four-star Matt Zollers and three-star Brennen Ward.
Zollers, a Pennsylvania native, visited Missouri in January and has the Tigers among his Top 4 alongside Penn State, Pitt, and Georgia. He plans to make spring visits to all four schools before making his college decision. As we reported earlier this week, we've heard Zollers and new Penn State OC Andy Kotelnicki (who was recently hired from Kansas), haven't really hit it off since he was hired. We'll see how things play out though.
Ward visited Missouri for the Florida win back in November, then returned to campus in January for the Tigers' Jr. Day event.
