Let's get some recruiting stuff out of the way before getting to the meat of this week's Chamber, which is the 2020 SEC football season.

FOOTBALL RECRUITING

- With Keontez Lewis committing to UCLA on Thursday, it was a bit of a sting for Missouri not landing one of their top wide receiver targets in the St. Louis area. However, there is still a long way to go until signing day and we doubt the Tigers' staff will close the door completely. Dominic Lovett is still on the market, so he remains a primary focus, but it will also be interesting to see if Missouri expands their search and extends additional wide receiver offers in the coming weeks as well. Still plenty of time left to add two wide receivers to this year's class.

As far as Lewis goes, all indications up until Wednesday night were that Missouri was going to be the choice. Some of that was assumption, but not all. There were people close to Lewis saying so and Missouri felt good about him. The tide turned Wednesday night. Why? We don't really know and the truth is it doesn't really matter. You miss about 90% of the kids you offer. Every coach misses. Even the one who's being promoted as "he doesn't miss." It could be any number of things, but it's very unlikely that any of them are anything catastrophic in relation to Mizzou that requires any lost sleep or an investigation. Kids go other places all the time. This one did.

- Moving forward, there is a pretty good sense that McKinney (Tex.) defensive lineman Jonathan Jones could be the next to join Missouri's recruiting class and that could happen at some point today. The three-star prospect put the Tigers among his Top 5 back on June 19th along with Nebraska, Colorado, Baylor, and Texas.

- If Jones joins the class, he would be the fourth defensive line commitment for Missouri, joining Shemar Pearl, Travion Ford, and Mekhi Wingo. The Tigers are looking to take at least three or four more defensive linemen moving forward. Some of their top remaining targets include Kyran Montgomery, Daniel Robledo, Tobechi Okoli, Davon Townley, Patrick Tukes, and Khristian Zachary.

- With Joe Alt committing to Notre Dame earlier this week, wanted to hit the reset button on offensive line recruiting. Missouri is looking to add at least two more linemen in this class to go along with commit Connor Tollison. Gadsen City (Ala.) product Roderick Orr remains a top priority and Michael Myslinski, who the Tigers like as a center just took an unhosted visit to Columbia. Recent offers Jordan Moko, Ezra Oyetade, and Kimo Makaneole are also in play. Cameron Ball also picked up an offer recently and is one to keep an eye on.

- Speaking of Myslinski, we're hoping to catch up with him sometime this weekend regarding his recent Missouri visit. He is in the midst of visiting Iowa and Michigan State as well on this swing. He previously visited Florida State, Maryland, and Duke a couple of weeks prior.

- We'll have a big more on new 2022 quarterback target Kaden Cobb this weekend. The offer wasn't a big surprise for the Chicagoland product, he told us he had been talking with Mizzou's staff since February. Cobb joins a very talented QB target board that Missouri is eyeing for next year's class.
