We are proud to welcome Billiards on Broadway back for another year as our partner and the presenting sponsor of the juiciest dish on PowerMizzou. If you're looking for the inside scoop on Mizzou recruiting, The Chamber is the place. If you're looking for the best burger in Columbia, Billiards on Broadway is your go-to. A great place to watch a game, play some pool and pair a great local beer selection with one of Columbia's best meals. Local sports, Local beer, Local food--all under one roof at Billiards!

Let's get started with this weekend's visits:

Buffalo TE transfer Tyler Stephens -- Missouri offered about a week ago and is getting a visit, which indicates to me there's a pretty good chance the Tigers will land him. A week ago, our impression was that Mizzou would probably let the tight end market play out a little bit. That could still be the case. we're not sure honestly if they can still get him in classes for this semester (not saying it's impossible, we just don't really know). But either way, we think Mizzou has to be the favorite here.

Auburn DL transfer Ian Matthews -- Good sign for Mizzou that he's going to be on campus this weekend. He had an in-home with Georgia Tech last night. Again, getting a visit is a good thing, but Matthews doesn't necessarily have to make a decision this weekend. We'll try to get in touch with him after the trip.

Auburn DL transfer Marquis Robinson -- As was tweeted yesterday, Eli Drinkwitz got in a visit with Robinson very quickly after he entered the portal. Mizzou would love to lock this thing up quickly before he really looks elsewhere, but we don't know if that's realistic at all. Again, these transfers do not have to decide before next week's late signing day. It could happen, but it's just too soon to say.

Those are the only three visits we know for sure are in town. But there are a lot of moving pieces and we think there could very well be some other visitors. We'll do our best over the next couple of days to see what we can dig up. After Ty'Ron Hopper's commitment we see 2-5 spots left in the class. And, again, that doesn't mean 2-5 spots next week. This class is going to go for a while. The transfer portal is going to pick back up after spring football. It's possible Mizzou could go as high as 32 spots in this class depending on how many other players decide to leave. It's going to be a wild recruiting cycle.

OTHER NOTES

*We got some indication from a source in Georgia that Missouri is a school grad transfer quarterback JT Daniels was looking at. We can confirm that there has been some discussion between the two sides. Missouri is at least kicking the tires. But from what we've been told Daniels is in no hurry to make a decision. He won't graduate from UGA until May so he wouldn't be at a new place for spring football. We don't believe there's going to be any decision made quickly. And from what we're gathering, we wouldn't by any means say Missouri is heavily involved or a favorite or anything. There's some interest. Nothing has really heated up. It might not. But since the info was passed on to us, we figured it was at least worth mentioning.

*Missouri officially announced the addition of new assistant coach Blake Baker yesterday. He wasted no time, sending out a bunch of offers to 2023 and 2024 kids yesterday. Louisiana definitely looks like a place the Tigers will become more active going forward with Baker on the staff.

*Rivals.com Midwest analyst Clint Cosgrove had some intriguing video interviews with a trio of Missouri targets this past week in 2023 OL Cayden Green, QB JJ Kohl along with 2024 WR Jeremiah McClellan. Here are some notes from each interview below.

*Cayden Green: He's been to Michigan and Cincinnati so far this month and is expected to be at Alabama this weekend. March visits will include Oklahoma, Baylor, LSU, and a return trip to Georgia. He's been to Missouri many times, so a short trip to CoMo isn't out of the question as well during this timeframe. Interesting note on the infamous dump truck visit from Eli Drinkwitz, the four-star prospect said he thought "it was pretty unique and original - I enjoyed it." So, clearly the mission of making a buzz in the recruiting world was accomplished by the Mizzou head coach. Right now, the plan for Green is to take more spring visits and come out with a Top 5 during the summer with a decision date tailored around either his birthday in November or signing day in December.

*JJ Kohl: A snowstorm a couple of weeks ago canceled Missouri's planned junior day event. However, the four-star, signal-caller was already in town and went through with his junior day visit and had a lot of one-on-one time with the Tigers' staff. Kohl had already been at Missouri back in October, so getting him back for a second visit is big and probably says a lot about where he stands on the quarterback board right now in the 2023 class. Iowa State and Nebraska are also on the visit docket for Kohl to finish out the month of January. His father played at Iowa State, but he says that won't play a factor in his decision. A decision is coming up soon for Kohl, who plans to make his commitment in May, so this will be an interesting recruiting process to follow and it seems Missouri has positioned themselves well.

*Jeremiah McClellan: Missouri sets well with the rising 2024 wide receiver out of CBC. He's already been to Columbia plenty of times and plans to return in March for a spring practice to get a better feel for the coaching staff and the offense. He particularly talked about wanting to watch Luther Burden and Mookie Cooper and how they progress at Missouri. Obviously, McClellan won't make a decision for quite a while, but Missouri has already positioned themselves well.

Should be a busy few days before the next signing period on Wednesday. We'll keep you up to date with all of it as things unfold.
