Missouri will host a few players this week prior to fall camp opening on Monday. The month of August is not typically too recruiting heavy because both college coaches and high school players are getting ready for the season. Official visits will not resume until the season is underway (and Mizzou historically has brought most officials in either before or after the season unless the schedule just doesn't work out). Here's a rundown on some of the players who either have been in town or are expected to be:

*Miles McVay stepped foot on Missouri's campus again on Thursday. Always a good thing to get the four-star OL target back in town, who is just days away from his August 11th commitment date. Do we think this sways the needle towards the Tigers, probably not. We still think Alabama is in the lead and will likely land his verbal pledge next month. NLI's (not NIL's) are not signed until December, so Missouri won't stop their efforts until the ink is dry.

*Missouri will have a few notable visitors on campus today:

Commits:

Blake Craig, Jamal Roberts

Mizzou will also have three LB targets in for visits today

Dickson Agu - Missouri offered back on May 6th. The Dutchtown (La.) product camped at LSU, Ole Miss, Miss State, and Vandy over the summer. Mizzou his only SEC offer currently.

Brayshaun Littlejohn - Mizzou offered on July 4th. Currently, his only other P5 offer includes Colorado, but not sure if there is mutual interest there at the moment. Littlejohn is good friends with current Mizzou LB Tyron Hopper, who was his HS teammate as a freshman and sophomore before Hopper moved to Georgia.

K’Vion Thunderbird - The three-star has held a Mizzou offer since February and expressed interest in visiting when we talked with him at Rivals Camp Series in Indy back in April. Things have been quiet regarding his recruiting process. His other notable offers include Auburn, Tennessee, Michigan State, Oregon - however, we don’t know where he stands with any of those teams currently.

A DB target is also expected in town this weekend

Shamar McNeil - The American Heritage (Fla.) cornerback will also be in town this weekend. The tall, lengthy corner has other notable offers from Rutgers, Temple, Akron, FIU, FAU, and others. Missouri offered back on May 17th.

A 2025 target will also be in town in Lee's Summit North (Mo.) LB Chase Pearsall, who has early offers from Nebraska and Missouri. Pearsall visited for Night at the Zou in June.

There will be some other young prospects on campus as well, but truthfully, 2025 is a little far out to really get into specifics at this point in time. Our understanding is that Mizzou is holding a day of games and competition for some of the prospects in town. The coaching staff will be doing some evaluations and some future offers could go out. We are not putting anyone on commit watch at this point in time.

*Some bad news on the top player in the state in 2024. Everything we're hearing on Ryan Wingo is that Marcus Freeman and Notre Dame have made major inroads and are considered the favorite. Obviously a long way to go, but Wingo is supposed to be in South Bend this weekend and the Irish are thought to be in the lead and tough to overtake.

*North Kansas City DL Edric Hill is going to be at Alabama this weekend. It would not be a surprise at all if he committed. Hill recently said that Missouri was still in the race and would get an official visit. That could happen. But we believe him to be a take at Bama and would consider them the favorite.

*We'll be your total resource for fall camp as always. Things will kick off with a media opportunity on Sunday. We anticipate the chance to talk to all ten assistant coaches and 25 returning players. True freshmen are not available. Freshman and sophomore transfers are not available. But we've requested a bunch of redshirt freshmen, returning players and older transfers. We'll have some notes from that on Sunday and use what we hear there for stories throughout camp. Practice starts on Monday morning and we will talk to Eli Drinkwitz after the first workout. We do not yet have a camp schedule or guidelines for media access during camp, but if there is an open period, we will be there.
