Example of balanced, adult journalism (Wired Magazine)

I get it. We want healthcare workers to get all the masks first and if consumers are demanding them, then the theory is healthcare workers will run out. Just fukcing say so. I've had enough with all the stupid lies saying masks aren't effective so don't wear one if you're healthy. I've even seen some of this shit repeated here on the OT; posters saying masks aren't effective against viruses. Effective for a healthcare worker but not for a commoner? That's bullshit which is easily disrupted by common sense alone.

The Wired Magazine article debunks all the angles and sets the record straight. It's dangerous to tell lies even if it's to serve a noble purpose. That's especially true when the topic is public health in the midst of a viral pandemic.

Masks help prevent infection. A lot. Wear one while in public if you have access to one.
