Thought some might be interested in this, as it comes directly from one of the probably 4 best sources you could have aside from MPJ or Jontay themselves...

MPJ could definitely play right now. He feels great but after coming back too soon once nobody wants to risk that again, especially considering how good the Nuggets are without him. I mentioned how I was bummed he didn’t get to go as high as he should have in the draft and was told “he’s thanking God for how things worked out and really likes his situation right now.”

Jontay is back in Columbia if you weren’t aware and had surgery I think last week. He can’t drive so he’s at home with mom. Apparently, as he admitted, he went too hard too soon and was out dunking a month before he was officially cleared to do so. Without prompting I was told he’s focused on getting better and deciding whether to stay or go pro. So, I followed up by asking if he had been leaning one way or the other and if the re-injury changed things. The response was “he was definitely leaning to going pro but I think he’s still deciding now.” So, while again it seems pretty sure he’ll go pro, no official decision has been made. Don’t get in a tizzy about that though please.

Anyway, there’s an update for anyone who is interested.
