How Dennis Gates will do here…. Good or bad. Anyone that’s predicting anything is just blowing smoke…. All the greatest or at least the majority of coaches you think of now as elite started on a similar track as Dennis Gates.
I am 100% behind this hire now. College basketball is 90% recruiting. He hasn’t had a chance to recruit to a P5 school as a head coach. Recruiting as an assistant is different than as a head coach. A head coach closes the deal. Let’s give him the chance to do it and remake the roster.
Most programs have to hire a mid major guy. Then that mid major guy goes on to suck or be the next great head coach. I’m going to go into this era believing that Gates will be the next Calipari. And I think you all should too. LFG!
