All year I have had to listen to Gabe and others scream for more playing time and how good he was. (funny now most of you are saying he wasnt that good lol) I never saw his talent. Yes hes quick but in 2018 you have to be able shoot at least a little and he drove to the basket and had no idea how to finish against equally athletic payers.
with him in the lineup spacing was terrible defense sagged and thats part of the reason we didnt get as many post touches as we should have against illinois. a game in which he played a lot. Phillips hasnt looked the same this year and is playing scared imo because cuonzo does have a quick hook. Cuonzo cant afford that right now and I think phillips will flourish with more freedom.
