Just got off the phone with my gramps. He said the two donors were pretty confident we’d have Whittingham but things have been super quiet. They don’t feel as certain as they did last week. They are not completely ruling out Whittingham but said that yesterday’s debacle with the informal BOC disapproval of Sterk has certainly effected things. He said they told him that it wouldn’t be a surprise if Mizzou has to use a “last resort”. He got the impression that Sterk has scared off any of the big names with yesterday’s events. I’ll see update if anything gets to him tomorrow after these conference championship games are over.

When the basketball coaching search where we got Kim Anderson was going on, some dude over on Tigerboard had people on the edge of their seats because he had a source that said we were close to hiring Gregg Marshall. When we didn't, he let the cat out of the bag (literally) saying that the source was his cat and when he would ask his cat who Mizzou was going to hire, the cat would say "meow-shall".....This situation seems similar.

The night before Kim’s hiring, my son was riding back to Columbia with @The Missourian ’s choice for our next AD, when they got a call and Nico smiled to my son and the other guy “how would you feel if Marshall was our coach?”
