I spoke briefly with Atlanta (Ga.) Pace Academy athlete Deon Jackson tonight, who was offered by Glen Elarbee earlier today.
I cut the interview a little short because Jackson hasn't actually every spoken with Elarbee (just traded message) but will talk to him on the phone for the first time tomorrow. Obviously I'd like them to talk first to get more information, but here's what Jackson told me so far:
-- Missouri is recruiting him as a running back. Some schools see him as a slot receiver, but Elarbee said Missouri wants him as a running back.
-- Jackson said he doesn't know much about Missouri so far (the offer was the first time he heard from them) but he's "very interested" and is going to try to schedule a visit with his parents for this summer. If that can't happen, he said the Tigers would be in good shape to get an official in the fall.
I'll have a full story on Jackson after he talks to Elarbee, but Missouri being his first SEC offer has made a good impression on him.
