Here is a PSA for anybody worried about paying for college for your kids. So here is the hack to get college paid for with the least amount of effort from your kids.
I am a member of the Air National Guard and it is the best kept secret in the military. 1 .It is Air Force so it’s super easy. 2. You get training for a future job and paid while you learn. 3. You get state funded college paid for almost 100% free (depending on state), waivers and post 911 GI bill.
So here is how it can work and has for me and college kids that I served with. Join and pick a job (Let’s say IT), go to basic training then tech school, come out with a lvl 2 IT certificate, then you get a TS security clearance (worth around 75k) to employers. Get college paid for as you serve one weekend a month, then when you graduate (debt free or very close), you can put down at least 4 years of experience in IT on your resume. Some big contractor company (General Dynamics, Boeing, Lockheed) will pay you 100K+ to start and you are set for the future.
Just letting you know. If you have any additional questions don’t hesitate to ask.
