EJ Liddell is better than advertised. His Jr season he is averaging 21.3pts per game, shooting 55% from the floor, 40% from three, and 7.3 boards and an astounding 3.7 blocks per game. He does this not even playing 30 minutes a game on a team loaded with talent and he still gets his.

At the time it was unfortunate that he went elsewhere, but was this a canary in the coal mine? EJ gets you a great player. And great players want to play with other great players. It was thought that EJ plus Rio also gets you Fletcher (who is still better than any player on our current roster). With that group you can probably make a strong argument that Caleb Love then comes to Mizzou and you effectively have St. Louis locked down for a long time which is a pipeline that you can rebuild around. It's like Kirby Smart said, it is hard to outcoach recruits. Jay Bilas also says, you want to know who will have the best success in March? Count the future NBA players on the floor. Mizzou has zero of these things, and EJ turning us down to me was the first domino to fall, seemed like an indication that players didn't want what HCCM was laying down. Lesson learned, lets move on.

Thanks Santos.
