Vandy is 1-3 in conference, but they have been competitive at home (they beat Arkansas…). They are a small team (two players over 6-foot on the roster), and the advanced stats (Warrennolan.com) have them above average defensively, and average offensively. We continue to slide in the defensive ratings (232), which I think explains our efforts to play more 2-3 zone against Georgia. It’s something we’ve been showing all year, but we played almost exclusively in the Georgia game. Coach is searching for an answer on that side.
Anyway, we can get to 10 conference wins and need to win road games like this to get there. Hopefully we come out, value the ball (say 14 TOs or less), rebound effectively, and shoot as normal. Do that and we should be able to win this one. But I’d expect a tight game the whole way.
