Everybody thinks there needs to be some sort of change or pulling things back a little bit after the NIL/transfer portal stuff. You're not taking NIL away and I don't really see the NCAA having the power to police it that well. So how about this?
You can still transfer. Schools cannot block you from transferring wherever you want. But go back to having to sit out a year. As a concession so it's not just "Hey, we screwed up, we're taking this back from you" the sit out year does not count against eligibility. In other words, if you transfer, you now have six to play four rather than five to play four.
Not sure it works or not, but the general consensus is the combo of transfer portal and NIL have sent this whole thing to a point where it isn't sustainable. So I think this is a potential compromise.
