It's been said before, but the Tigers must have a great season to feel good about next year. Because next year is going to be rough.

First of all we need a tournament win. It's been 10 years since Mizzou beat Clemson in the NCAA Tourney. Since then we've either lost in amazing fashion in the first round or missed the field all together. The fan base needs to see a march madness win. And let's be honest, unless we have a great regular season Cuonzo likely needs more than one tournament win to buy him time. Next year we're likely to have a losing season, it's going to suck. Fans need faith that we'll be back to competing in the tournament more than once every 3 or 4 years.

If that doesn't happen Cuonzo needs a great offseason. What does that look like? Honestly? Hiring new assistants. Is anyone impressed with our assistants? What value are they adding to our team? The offense and defense are both designed by Cuonzo, and it's not like any of them are out recruiting at a high level. Which, segue, is something that is needed for a great offseason. Mizzou needs to add highly talented players next class. This class was a solid class of developmental players who we can build a team with. Great, but we need a star. We need a GUY or two.

Win multiple games in the tournament or have a huge recruiting class. If that doesn't happen we're going to be looking for a new coach next spring. Let's hope that happens, because Mizzou basketball can't afford this cycle of mediocracy to extend for another decade.
