I think the GOAT is Band of Brothers. I have watched it at least 20 times.
My grandfather came thru Omaha beach D-Day plus 15ish and thru his letters back home I was able to track down the apple orchard he camped in during his time in Normandy. I took my mom to The D-Day beaches and we took the Band of Brothers tour there. I watched the series for the 12th time before I went. They start you at the Us cemetery and then follow Easy company thru there time in Normandy. Unbelievable what those soldiers and sailors went through. Truly the most humbling experience in my life. When you are on the beach and looking up to the German emplacements, all I though was no one should have survived. The tactical advantage the Germans had and how our guys prevailed is incredible. The cemetery makes you well up when looking at all those head stones and then reading the dates to see how young man of those hero’s were.
I highly recommend the Band of Brothers tour if you go to Normandy and are a fan of the series.
Thank you to all who served and made the ultimate sacrifice and also to their families.
