I sat in row 3 of the Princeton game in Sacramento last year with my dad. The tickets weren’t cheap. I came in expecting a good game and I saw a totally hapless team. And I noticed as I was watching them lose to a 15 seed that all of the best players on that team wouldn’t be coming back the next year. It was then that I realized a couple of things: 1) Gates isn’t some kind of god-like coach, and 2) he was going to need to get some studs in the portal or we were going to suck this year. When we didn’t get any studs I was pretty convinced we wouldn’t be good. But I honestly never imagined we’d be Kim Anderson bad. This is a bad situation, folks. Gates can still recover, but this is super bad.
