Amazingly, this is not a gun-related story. It's reality is far more absurd.
I'm not sure there exists collectively a larger group of mindless followers. What are these people afraid of? At some point, one of them needs to stand up to policy and simply say, "I'm not enforcing that. It's ****ing stupid, he's 9, and we've already scared the shit out of him. The policy's lack of flexibility is the problem, not this child."
That person will be hailed as a hero. Until that time, I guess these bad asses hiding behind the attendance secretary's desk will continue to make kids think they're borderline criminals for playing make believe with their friends. Pisses me off because enduring events like this -- being thrown out of school -- can really **** up a child's mind at that age.
