Georgia in 2016, Up 6, Georgia drives 80 yards and on a 4th and 20 Mizzou gives up a TD. Moore fumbles and Mizzou loses by 1 point. Outscored 7-0 in the 4th quarter.
Middle Tennessee State in 2016: Down 6, defense stopped MTSU to force a punt after 5 minutes. Mizzou has two possessions to score a TD, gains a total of 9 yards. Outscored 10-7 in the 4th quarter.
Kentucky in 2017, 34-34 in the 4th quarter, Odom's defense gives up back to back drives that result in FGs. Mizzou is stopped short and loses 40-34. Outscored 13-7 in the 4th quarter.
2018 USC: Mizzou's Tucker McCann inexplicably nails a 57 yarder after missing a chip shot earlier. Mizzou allows USC to drive 53 yards in 1:16 to lose. Outscores USC 12-6 in the 4th quarter.
2018 Kentucky: Mizzou is up 14-3 with 5 minutes to go, gives up a punt return for a TD, throws on a 3rd and 2, allows Kentucky to drive 81 yards in 1:24 to score a TD. Outscored 12-0 in the 4th quarter.
In all of these losses Mizzou was combined outscored 48-26 in the 4th quarter.
Why can this defense not stop anyone in the 4th quarter when it matters? Is it a scheme issue with Odom, does he go crazy prevent defense and basically allow the other team to drive down the field because he's scared of a deep shot? His explanation of not wanting to allow Kentucky to have a 30+ yard shot at the end zone with Terry Wilson as the QB is completely dumbfounding to me.
The only outlier I can find here is Arkansas where we stopped them to win the game on our own 20.
