Why I love college sports… I sat down in my seat here at the game next to an older couple and asked where they were from, they said pilot grove, mo (population 664). My grandfather who is from there and was the biggest mizzou softball and women’s basketball fan I know and who I always went to countless games with passed away this year. I asked him if he knew him which he proceeded to say you mean “sluggo,” (his childhood nickname). We talked for a little bit and he asked to take a picture with me so he could send it to people back home saying he was with sluggos grandson. I got choked up talking to my family on the phone immediately after . You never know when you’ll have a memory you’ll never forget. This is why college sports is amazing… the random connections you make and the community. MIZ
