This is the $60,000 question right now. Joe Biden's nomination, which was mandated by the anti-2A lobby, didn't give enough consideration of David Chipman's past public comments. While Chipman has deleted over 1,000 tweets in the past 3-4 days, his Reddit AMA is still live on the internet. You can see the scripted inquirers have tried deleting their questions to save him, but that didn't quite work.

He is very much for heavy prosecution of people who fail background checks. In fact, he commissioned an internal review as an ATF special agent which allegedly confirmed that too many people who fail background checks end up committing violent crimes. In fact, in the Reddit AMA, Chipman advocates for "arresting these people before they commit a crime." Yes, you read it correctly, he is saying that local law enforcement should arrest a person for nothing more than failing a background check. This is as authoritarian as one can get.

In Hunter Biden's case, what he did is worse. He passed a background check, but he LIED on the form knowing he couldn't pass it if he told the truth. This is an absolute verifiable fact and it's a felony crime. So what will the new mister bigshot at ATF do about this? It's going to be the first question out of the gate at his confirmation hearing, we know that for sure. I can't wait to hear his answer at his next AMA in front of the US Senate.

Finally, Tucker Carlson's takedown of this nominee is as good as broadcast journalism gets these days. This is what journalism should be; oversight of those in power.
