I have volunteer coached at Troy Buchanan HS for the past few years and have been fortunate to hang with another retired volunteer Coach named John Frangoulis.

Gouli was a great guy and has had some amazing football experiences over a 50-year career of coaching...he coached at Mo Valley back in the day, coached at Mizzou in the 80's with Andy Reid, coached with Mizzou All-American Francis Peay at Northwestern, was both an assistant and Head Coach at Baker University in kansas, and several other stops.

For the past 16 years he has become an icon and beloved Coach here at Troy. He suffered a stroke a year and a half ago during track season...but still came around and attended every Troy practice and game or meet...for both football and track.

He tragically passed away a week ago...although it was fortunate that it was a peaceful passing in his sleep at his assisted living facility here in town.

There will be a Celebration of his Life this Saturday in the Troy Buchanan HS gym...and Troy's AD Jason Smith is putting together a video with several people contributing.

The most famous contributor to take the time to record and send in a heart-felt video tribute? His old coaching buddy from Mizzou, Andy Reid.

Thought this was a story worth sharing on here....Thank you Coach Reid...Gouhli valued your friendship so!

Godspeed Gouhli...may you Rest in Peace.
