Latest Hog Spin Doctoring (Football Version)

So the latest spin on Kendal Briles:

He wanted to stay.. ...Arkansas wouldn't let him

As Hog Fan ("confirmed" by Trey Biddy) now spins it, Briles and agent Jimmy Sexton flirted with Miss St to get a new deal, which Arkansas agreed to

When the TCU opportunity came into play, Sexton again approached Pittman and the University to match it

The spin is, not only did they refuse, the school suggested Briles accept the TCU job

If you haven't had enough spin, they now anticipate Dan Enos will do a great job

(Just a reminder, Hog Fan wanted him run out on a rail, when he was OC in the Beleima regime...and he was)

In short, despite getting screwed by the refs against an obviously over matched MU squad, things are just dandy in Fayette Nam, as always

Transfer Portal Musings

PowerMizzou is starting to get fired up and will be living on pins and needles regarding the transfer portal for the next 6 months. This is not specific to the Tigers. Every team from the Ohio States/Bamas/Blue Bloods to FCS schools will be impacted.

There are a few things that give me confidence (and hopefull you as well):

1. The portal has been a net positive for Drink. Many key contributors were added last year: Hopper, Jernigan, Schrader, Coleman, etc. Only one player that left would have had meaningful playing time (Wingo). Drink has faults, but his ability to recruit is a key strength.

2. Mizzou is trending positive; there is optimism about the direction of the program. This sentiment will help retain players and attract other contributors. Arkansas will have the opposite problem.

3. In the history of Mizzou losing key players via the transfer portal to move to a "better" program, I can only think of 3 instances: Wingo, Daniel Parker (mutual decision), and DGB (kicked off Mizzou team). I know the NIL coupled with the free transfer rule are changing the dynamics, but losing good players to the transfer portal has been a rarity. It is more likely players transferring to programs where they can get more playing time. If a key player is getting minutes and Mizzou and producing, why would they leave? Only money. So, we will need our NIL collective to step up (i.e., Lovett) and I believe that this will happen.

So sit back and enjoy Mizzou's win and bowl game. There will be continuous chatter about transfers (coming and going), but when the dust settles Mizzou will be better heading into the 2023 season. Go Tigers!

BASKETBALL Recruiting ratings for NFL all pro teams - Defense = 4.5 stars, Offense = 2 stars

Pretty good article which starts out with a recruiting battle between Missouri and Alabama for a three star RB from Oklahoma in 2016.

A lot of interesting opinions here. The one I found most interesting:

“The O-line (recruiting rankings) are the best crapshoot,” said UCLA coach Chip Kelly, who spent four seasons coaching in the NFL and had some of the best offensive linemen in the NFL in Philadelphia. “The best center in football, Jason Kelce, was a former walk-on linebacker. Lane Johnson was a high school quarterback. Jason Peters was a tight end in college. Offensive line is kinda like the last stop. That’s the one position where you really have to project or push people to. When it comes to quarterback and O-line, they’re really their own little worlds.”

Chiefs Vs. Jags Divisional Game This Saturday!

I have 6 tickets total for Saturday's Game! I'm a STM and can't attend. Thought i'd try here before posting on Ticketmaster and them charging you and I both fees. Their fee for buyers are $45 a ticket on top of cost for this game.

4 together in section 310 Seats 3,4,,5,6...Only 2 people between your group and the aisle!
2 together in section 332 Seats 15,16......These are Aisle Seats!
$1500 for the 6 plus parking. again no fees. Would be an additional $275 for 6 tickets and parking on Ticketmaster.

I also have a red parking pass for anyone who would like to purchase all 6 that i'll throw in.

NO fees like on Ticketmaster.
I'll accept Zelle or Apple Pay

I have pictures of the view from seats if needed. You can see the whole field from the seats and the plays developing from the angle.

Jake Garcia

I love the add. Garcia has major arm talent. Most thought we wouldn’t add another QB, but you get as much talent as you can and you let them slug it out. Kids are gonna leave regardless. If Cook starts, let it be because he really is the best, rather than just being the best of the worst.

Hopefully his dad is less of an influence and he can just come in and play ball.
