Need some OT wisdom. Here’s my situation:

Family is growing in June. Going from 2 kids (4 and 2) to 4. Expecting twins in June. Wife drives Kia Sorento which can handle 4 car seats in a pinch. My ‘16 Kia Optima cannot and will be traded in for “Family” car.

We’ve pretty much decided it will be a van. Wife likes Honda Odyssey, seems to be the category favorite. I’m backed into current market conditions which quite honestly suck. Looking to optimize this trade-in/purchase as best we can.

New vs Used - leaning new on the Honda, can easily be swayed to lightly used. Not seeing much price variation at all with Used

Timing - Always hear end of month/quarter as good time to catch some incentives. Any truth to this?

Trade-in - Optima is good shape, 58k miles. Know I have some solid chip to play here in negotiations. I’ve read dealers are starving for sub-20k used inventory. How do I best leverage this?

Local vs National - Live in LSMO. Any arbitrage between buying in Missouri or Kansas. On same lines, is it worth going whole states away to find deals? Got a buddy that works for huge car dealer in Texas with lots of Used inventory.

Financing just keeps getting more expensive. I’ve never been a payment shopper, usually just want the best price on the car. In this instance I’m sticking to $600 as ceiling/month. Daycare exp is about to explode.

Appreciate the input any of you jabronis can provide.
