With six open scholarships in the 2021-22 class, Cuonzo Martin (assuming he's still around) will have a major roster overhaul on his hands. It seems likely to me that he will try to fill at least a couple of those slots on the transfer market, but will probably need to recruit at least three or four freshmen for the '21-'22 class.
Next year, the calculus that determines whether he is retained or let go will have some to do with how recruiting is going. If we're a .500 team again and he isn't signing anyone of note, that's a bad sign. But if we're .500 with some hotshot recruits coming in, that changes things.
Obviously, we hope whatever roster takes the floor next season wins 20+ games and gets a bid, which you'd hope would help boost recruiting. If they don't, though, what do you need to see in terms of recruiting for '21-'22 that'll make you believe he needs one more year to right the ship?
