This team is a true slashing guard and a competent big away from being pretty good next year. I really don’t believe the offense falters because of any sort of system issues. They get complacent at the 3-point line, often spurred on by Mark Smith and Torrence, and don’t attack the basket.
We saw what happened when they did attack today. There were a million fouls called, but Mizzou also forced the refs to make those calls by attacking the hoop.
No idea what the grad transfer market looks like this spring, but if they can find a slashing guard/forward and an athletic big, they’d have a really good lineup with Pinson, Dru Smith, Kobe, Pickett, Mark, Tray, Jeremiah (if he stays) and the two head transfers.
Also, Cuonzo has to let these guys stay in the game and developed a rhythm. Felt like they finally did tonight, and even with the poor shooting percentage, you could see the benefit.
