A better comp than UNC, etc. is Donnie Tyndall case at Southern Miss, since it involved the same thing - players/recruits not doing their own work.
Like MU, it was categorized as "Level 1 - Standard" (not "Mitigating"). And they did get slightly harsher penalties (2 year postseason ban, etc) while Mizzou's are the lowest for Level 1 - Standard.
But a few big differences in that case ...
Tyndall & a couple assistants got "show cause". And again, penalties were SLIGHTLY harsher (mid range vs low).
But it was categorized as the same level of infractions "Level 1 - Standard" which comes with a fixed range of penalties.
Even if we got the low end of those penalties - the fact that its grouped with Tyndall/Southern Miss - where the staff itself was driving the fraud, plus handed out cash, and tried to cover it up ...
... is ABSOLUTELY F*CKING INSANE!!!

But a few big differences in that case ...
1. The work was done by assistant coaches & grad assistants
2. They did it at the direction of the Head Coach
3. They also gave $$ & prepaid credit cards to HS coaches (to give to players)
4. They didn't "self report"
Oh, and ...
5. The Head Coach tried to obstruct the investigation - deleted emails, communicated with those involved on burner phone and had Asst Coach instruct a player to flat out lie the morning before he met with NCAA.
