The very nice group sitting behind us at last night's game had on Air Force gear so my AF veteran husband asked about their service. The son (about 6-6 I would guess) plays basketball at Eugene and has signed a LOI to play at Air Force Academy.
I looked up the future AFA cadet, Caleb Walker, on the internet today and found he had a game this year with 41 points and 30 rebounds! Eugene is 22-3. They seem to average about 75 ppg except for a 38-86 loss to Fatima last week? Fatima is now 4A? Mid-Missouri has changed since I covered those teams.
It made me nostalgic for the years when Mizzou had small town stars on the roster--some more successful than others: Barry Laurie, Ricky Frazier, Billy Roundtree, Kim Anderson, Ron Jones, John Brown.
