Dave Matter noted that this additional honor (to his known HOF recogntion) was unknown to Coach Pinkel until it was announced and unveiled during the halftime ceremony.
I missed this moment and would love to see the video of GP's face at that very moment.
I was at that fateful last game at Hearnes (DAMN you, Padgett! the guy who hit that frickin' flat shot that somehow went in when kU beat us)...and at half time that day...Norm Stewart was honored when they announced that in the new Mizzou Arena the Court would ne called NORM STEWART COURT (sorry Paige Kronke...it's Mizzou Arena now).
I remiss...I could tell by the immediate emotional reaction that day...as you could read in Norm's face and body language...that he had NO IDEA that that honor was forthcoming until it was announced that moment.
I'll admit that I got wet eyes and a lump in my throat at that very moment...and would have experienced the same emotion had I seen this live at the moment it happened.
PLEASE SHARE if anyone has this!
