Anyone have any idea how much it would cost to set up a Big 12 Network? The Big 12 is probably going to get a windfall from UT and 0U leaving early and having their own network would help make them the best of the second tier conferences. I don't see any of them bringing enough value to the first tier conferences to get an invite. Using some of that windfall money to set up a network would make them the top of the second tier conferences. They won't do it because the conference leadership is not far sighted enough and they probably have big bills to pay for past improvements but if they did they could at least hopefully get the best of the AAC to join.
I love the SEC Network and the ability to watch other Mizzou sports. I even watch the historical programs. The Big 8/Big 12 had a great history as well. The network would also allow them to avoid the 11 am purgatory for their biggest games. All those streaming services would love to have some more real-time programming and if the Big 12 concentrated on non-exclusivity in their contracts they should be able too sign quite a few streamers.
