I watched the UCLA vs. Stanford game Thurs night. During the telecast Walton and his partner discussed the firing of Steve Alford and the fact that his last game was a disappointing 15 point home loss to mid-major Liberty U. Here's Walton's comments on UCLA scheduling Liberty.

"Never should have scheduled Liberty. That will be a stain that is unremoveable from the great University."

His partner asked, "Because they lost to them?"

"No, because they scheduled Liberty. If you don't know the history of Liberty, just go look it up. That's why it's an unremoveable stain on this great University, UCLA"

I wonder if Jerry Farwell, Jr (founder of Liberty) will be made aware of Walton's comments and if he complains to ESPN.
