For all you enthusiasts out there. Wife and I were supposed to head to Cabo last Thursday, but were screwed by American Airlines, Columbia Regional airport and Chicago O'hare for the 3rd time in 12 months.

This lead to an impromtu trip to Louisville and the Bourbon trail. If you have not done this, plan a trip ASAP. Just an amazing trip all around. Spent 3 nights in Lousiville making daily trips to Distilleries. Should have stayed in Bardstown one night just becuase its a very cool historic site. Way too many things to go into detail, but here is a list of places we went to that were absolutely amazing. Many places you are able to purchase bourbons you can't get elsewhere and they all provide quality tastings. The history and the education is second to none and now the wife loves Bourbon (bonus!). Unfortuately, Buffalo Trace didn't have anything available other then their flagship, but they do on occasion have allocations that hit the shelf.

Angles Envy: bought some Cask strength, Brandy barrel aged
Buffalo Trace: brought home Bourbon Creame and buffalo trace aged cigars.
Woodford Reserve (beautiful): Woodford double oak and all of their private label manhattan ingredients
Four Roses
Heaven Hill
Makers Mark.: Special on sight edition of the private selection with the staves selected by the employees.

Makers was by far our favorite, small self contained and a very immersive experience.
