1. It wasn't perfect, but it was a win. And that's really all that matters. Because the Kentucky and South Carolina games were games that should have gone your way and didn't. This one much of the day looked like it was going to go against you and you found a way. They deserve at least a little bit of credit for that. 8-4 is still in the picture.

2. 99 3/4 yards is a defining drive. This offense hasn't been perfect. And Vandy isn't the 85 Bears. But taking the ball over on your own goal line and scoring a go ahead touchdown is damn impressive.

3. The short yardage defense has been great this year. The overall defense hasn't, but Missouri has been absolute nails in a lot of third and fourth and one situations. The defense on the fourth down there was so good that none of us even knew who to credit with making the play. Overall on fourth down, Mizzou opponents are just 5/19.

4. As my friend Sam Mellinger would say, Daniel F. Parker. Damn kid. From defensive end to three catches for 40 yards and a touchdown? When you're without your top two tight ends? Give that kid a game ball or two.

5. Give another one to Dominic Gicinto who came up with some big catches when Missouri needed them, none bigger than a third down crossing route from the Vandy 20 to set up the go ahead score. Well, none was bigger until his 42 yard catch on second down with 3:30 left to put Mizzou at the Vandy 21. What a damn throw by Lock and a pretty nice catch by Gicinto.

6. The tackling and the return games need to be addressed. Both were terrible on Saturday. The return games have been terrible all year. Every time they do something decent, it comes back on a penalty...and it hasn't happened that often to begin with.

7. Also somebody get Barry Odom a new two point chart. He kicked when he should have gone and went when he should have kicked. This game should have been over sooner. It wasn't because Missouri bungled the two point decisions. Odom isn't alone in this. Coaches simply have no concept of when to do it.

8. Missouri deserved to win one like this. It wasn't easy, but they won. Exhale.
