Watching the team this season it is obvious that one of the biggest missing pieces is a true go-to scorer. Absent Josh Christopher committing to Mizzou in the spring, that will likely continue to be a need heading into next season. Most likely we will need guys currently on the roster taking steps forward offensively. It likely depends on your opinion of our roster as to how much of an issue you see that continuing to be a year from now.

The other obvious hole is in the post when Tilmon is not in the game which tends to be a lot of the time. I keep seeing posts that Tilmon is gone after this season and his backup is a senior. Regardless of what you think of Nikko, he won't be around next season. So without Tilmon and Nikko, the post to me seems like a hole that can't be filled with this current roster. I assume we need to land a grad transfer big after this season?

The recruiting misses are starting to become noticeable and raising some question as to what exactly the coaching staff is trying to build with the roster. Did we recruit any centers in the 2019 class? Obviously we missed on the local 2020 wing studs in Love and Fletcher who at least would have added another candidate to help with the first paragraph, but I am not seeing what the plan is in the paint. The late addition of Okongo seems like a wasted scholarship (not sure why we wouldn't have actively pursued a transfer candidate for that spot, be nice to have a guy sitting this season) and Wilmore appears to be more of a project type, so not sure what sort of minutes we can expect from those two. I'm just really struggling with what the coaching staff is doing in the paint. Can anyone help me feel better about next season and beyond?
