Ok I don't think we have a problem with recruiting D Linemen, but lets just say it there are about 25 top O linemen in each recruiting cycle each year, for the entire United States, they are a premium class of dudes and almost always go to the blue bloods, so development is very important.
The Big name schools have first choice, everybody else has to find the right guy they can develop, that is why Tiger camp is so important, Colin Brown, Connor McGovern, Max Copeland, Beau Brinkley, Brad Madison (later MOVED to Defense), Steven Carberry, Clayton Echard, on and on came from Player Camp.
I have kept up with football recruiting Missouri since 1968 and the hardest thing is determining is the player really that good or the Defense that bad, or offense that bad. Missouri does not have the High School programs Texas or Georgia has and thus much harder to make judgements on talent.
What I am getting at is Walk-on linemen are the bread and butter Mizzou needs.

No guarantees for those hoping to walk on to Missouri football team
Every year, Missouri’s football team accepts about 10 new walk-ons— athletes who have not received a scholarship offer but still hope to find a spot on the team’s roster.
