I know I'm dating myself with this, but the Iran House was a vocal group that really knew how to organize a peaceful protest.
I had a couple of Iranians in my Org. Chem Class and they were the nicest guys, always smiling and never talked politics in class. I know they were probably the very privileged of Iran and were happy to study abroad.
Get out of country that was being abused by the Shaw.
Those guys protested so often and were really nasty towards the U.S. but never obstructed you from passing through to the UNION, never blocked parades or went on hunger strikes A lot of propaganda issued out , but always peaceful.
I know the issues with CS1650 are different; Campus Issues in comparison with a Tyrant Dictator Puppet Ruler in Iran who probably loved to torture and kill his fellow Iranians. Obviously the protests were aimed at the U.S. Government who supported the Shaw.
And all the World History Majors don't need to note that finally the Shaw was overthrown and finally fled and the protesters won. Just saying The Iran House Group protested peacefully.
I could be wrong , but I don't remember any beatings or any horrible threats during my time at Mizzou. 1976 to 1980.
