-Gates said they had a great first half and executed their gameplan in great detail. But in the second half, they couldn't slow LSU down enough to get stops. Gates said their missed shots let LSU get out in transition and Mizzou just couldn't keep up.

-Gates said he thought turnovers played a big part of tonight. They kept the team from extending the lead when they had it and contributed to them losing it in the second.

-Noah Carter said the team's defense was what allowed them to build the lead early. But once they missed a couple of shots that led to LSU points at the other end, the game kind of flipped on them.

-Gates said they're going to go over the stat sheet and evaluate their rotations ahead of the tournament. He was impressed with Trent Pierce early but said he ran out of gas.

-Carter said they're going to prepare for Nashville like it's a new season. Said the seniors know it's their last go-around, so they want to push to make a run.
