EARLIER THIS WEEK I POSTED THE BELOW AND WAS RIDICULED
I have watched Mizzou Football for 60 years and we have finally made the transition to a Mountain West, Sun Belt Conference type of team. How did this happen? Poor recruiting and constant changes of coaches and schemes has lead to poor defensive play. Throw and try to outscore the opposition.
Observations
1.Our QB is checkdown Charlie. He really looks like Alex Smith but at least Alex would run occasionally. Why not give Cook or Macon a chance? Is Connor hindered by the prior knee injury?Teams would have to respect Badie and Macon on RPO's. Isn't happening now!
2.Defense a disaster Steve Wilk's LBs get trapped every game and are at risk every RPO for a big play. It seems to me Nick Bolton covered up a lot of mediocrity last year. Why can we not get a Defensive End that can set the edge?
3.Recruiting seems like Drink wants a wide open offense so he can go to the lead as a offensive coordinator.
4.Stop taking transfers from fledgling programs Tulsa and Rice recruit transfer from the Big 12 and Big 10
5.Why do we still play 5 and 6 year seniors and expect a different result? Free Mookie Cooper! Play Michael Cox! Give the younger players experience and hope!
In total I like Coach Drink but like the Tigers he is far from a finished product as a Head Coach. He needs to look at many issues and perhaps make some changes in his play calling and his personel.
