Looks like the rest of the incoming class hits campus this weekend. That can only mean one thing… it’s almost football season. Truly the best time of the year!
With that in mind, I started thinking about Sam Horn. Now that the MLB draft is in mid-July rather than early June, it’s sets up for an interesting dynamic if Horn does decide to go the baseball route. He moves to Mizzou this weekend, goes through a month or so of summer football workouts, then waits to see where he’s drafted.
If he’s selected high enough and the money is too good to pass up, he packs up his stuff and hits the road? Obviously nobody would blame him, but I would have to imagine after spending a month with the team and beginning to build that bond, it would be a little awkward for the kid. Money talks though… it will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
