… so this goes back to our first year in the SEC. I was at our home game against Georgia that season, and met up with two Georgia fans at the airport the following Monday morning.
They said we don’t have the lineman to compete in the SEC and it will probably be 10 years before we even get to a bowl game again.
I had far more optimism of course and tried to reason with them but it was no use. They told me to get used to losing.
We went on to win the SEC East Twice including a win in Athens. So tonight I’ll raise a glass to those two men…
