1. So here's the thing. Mizzou ran good offense today. Really good, actually. But, you still have to make shots. They were exceptional at attacking the rim and getting to the line (and shooting exceptionally there as well). The philosophy was sound. But... You still have to make shots. Mizzou left at LEAST 19 points off the board with high quality, high % looks at the rim. NINETEEN. You can say your offense should get looks that you can convert. I will say a high major team has to convert good looks at the rim. It was truly crazy our inability to make makeable shots. The same shots that sunk Illinois and Florida. And it cost them the game.

2. There are no moral victories. Mizzou lost. But this was a different team than the group we watched Tuesday. So there's that.

3. Bama is a good offense. Not great, but good. And they go fast. Mizzou's defense was not up to the task in the first half. 47 points is not a recipe for success. It's a very concerning trend since sec play began. I think Tilmon is a part of this. I think the level of competition is part of it. I think it's more a matter of performance.

4. The refs sucked. Helped us more than it hurt us. But they were bad.

5. Mark had 3 good looks when the deficit was 3-5 points. Didn't get one to fall. Story of the game. Get the looks you want your guys to have, and nothing. That makes for a hard way to win ball games. Late in the first half Bama scored 12 points in 4 trips. Those are the difference makers.

6. Since I called him out last game, I will point out Dru played a good game. 18 points, 6 boards, 4 steals and 2 assists. He's the guy you have to have show up to have a chance. He did, we had one. He needed help. Kobe chipped in. Mark was ok until crunch time. Everyone else was just kinda there.

Next up is aTm. If the team has any thought of playing beyond the SECT in any manner, it's a game they need.
