Talking to Dennis Gates, Nick Honor and Anthony Robinson II. Gates is his same old level-headed self -- doesn't seem overly bothered by the loss:

-Gates said JSU did a good job of executing down the stretch. Said he doesn't think Mizzou won a single 50-50 loose ball tonight because of how scrappy JSU was. Big picture: The team has to do better and he has to do better as coach.

-Gates said JSU's game plan was to pressure the ball and create turnovers - they did that by forcing 18. Gates said they also did a good job of converting off the turnovers.

-Mizzou had 11 free throw attempts. JSU had 11 made free throws. Gates said that can't happen.

-Gates said the message is to learn a lesson through the loss. Gates said they gave JSU too many chances.

-Honor said JSU was aggressive and showed more energy than Mizzou did tonight. Said they need to reflect on the loss and then move on from it.

-Gates liked the toughness he saw from Jesus tonight.

-Gates said he think JSU is an NCAA tournament team. Doesn't think anything should be taken away from their win tonight. Called them "the best 0-5 team in the country."

-Gates said he didn't go back to Connor Vanover or John Tonje in the second half because, with JSU getting a lot of the 50-50 balls, he wanted to go with guys he thought would help with that.

-Gates said he knows Jordan Butler feels bad for missing the free throws. But loved the way his teammates picked him up afterward. He said one game isn't going to define them.

-Gates said he doesn't think they executed poorly in the last few possessions on offense but does think they could've done a better job of coming up with stops at the other end.

-Gates liked the stats from Caleb Grill but knows that he, as well as several other players, would trade their stats in for a win tonight.
