I don't have anybody from Missouri telling us this is for sure a done deal yet, although I trust Pete Thamel's reporting completely. As soon as we can get that, we'll let you know.
From what I've learned this week, I believe that interviews with finalists were taking place this weekend. I believe there were 2-3 of them. As far as others involved besides Reed-Francois in this round, I'm not positive. Have heard Doug Gillin as a possiblity as well as Laird Veatch, but cannot verify they were involved this far along. I know Brian White from FAU was involved, but as we reported earlier this week, was not a candidate. I know Wren Baker's name was involved as well, though do not believe it reached the point of a face to face interview.
Reed-Francois, as the story says, worked under Whit Babcock at Virginia Tech. I'm told that Babcock (who was not interested in the Mizzou job and may not even have been approached) recommended her very highly to Mizzou's search committee.
